About the Role

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or related field
• Experience at a Big Four accounting firm
• 3+ years of accounting experience preferably in a technology startup
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with accounting software such as SAP S/4HANA and QuickBooks
• Experience with audits and working with external auditors
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• CPA or Wirtschaftsprüfer (WP) preferred
• Native or fluent proficiency in German and English

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Maintain and post entries to the general ledger
• Reconcile bank accounts credit cards and other accounts monthly
• Process payroll and prepare payroll tax returns
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
• Maintain accurate up-to-date records of financial transactions
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants
• Monitor and analyze financial data and identify trends
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws
