Associate General Counsel, Banking & Capital Markets
About the Role
You will act as the legal lead supporting the Banking and Capital Markets team. You will negotiate complex commercial, technology, and infrastructure integration agreements with banks, asset managers, broker-dealers, and other financial market participants. You will draft and negotiate data licensing and partnership agreements, protect intellectual property, and ensure compliance with operational resilience, data protection, DORA, EBA outsourcing guidelines, and cybersecurity requirements. You will counsel Product, Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure teams on contractual and regulatory matters and support cross-border go-to-market deployments.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience with foundational training at a top-tier law firm in a corporate or transactional practice
- At least 3 years of in-house experience at a technology company structuring and negotiating agreements
- Proven track record of independently leading complex commercial and corporate transactions in tech, payments, and finance
- Solid financial services background with experience working in or with regulated financial services firms and familiarity with financial regulation applicable to digital assets
- License to practice law or equivalent in the US or UK, or an LLM from such jurisdictions
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic legal partner to BCM, Product, Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure teams
- Negotiate complex technology and infrastructure integration agreements and data licensing deals with TradFi clients
- Negotiate strategic partnership agreements and develop joint go-to-market strategies while protecting IP
- Leverage regulatory and compliance frameworks applicable to FMIs, including operational resilience, data protection, DORA, EBA outsourcing guidelines, and cybersecurity requirements
