Backend Engineer - Unichain
About the Role
You will own projects end-to-end: scope requirements, design systems, implement solutions, and monitor them in production. You will write clean, well-tested Rust code, perform thoughtful code reviews, and build and maintain infrastructure to keep Unichain reliable and performant. You will proactively identify system gaps, propose practical solutions, participate in on-call rotations to ensure chain stability, and work cross-functionally to turn complex, ambiguous problems into clear technical plans.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with production systems
- Experience building and operating distributed systems or blockchain infrastructure
- Ability to take ambiguous problems break them down and deliver results
- Solid understanding of cloud architectures system design and debugging at scale
- Experience building systems from scratch and iterating on them
- Interest in Web3 and staying current with industry best practices
- Rust proficiency (nice to have)
- Experience with Optimism based rollups OP Stack (nice to have)
- Familiarity with Reth or Kona (nice to have)
- Exposure to zero-knowledge systems or cryptographic primitives (nice to have)
- Experience with observability tools and time-series monitoring (nice to have)
- Working knowledge of Go or TypeScript (nice to have)
- AWS or equivalent cloud platform experience (nice to have)
Responsibilities
