Deputy General Counsel
About the Role
You will serve as a senior legal advisor to the General Counsel and executive leadership. You will oversee legal strategy for incubations across DeFi, market structure, and real-world asset integrations. You will manage and mentor legal team members and scale legal processes across entities. You will lead engagements with regulators, industry bodies, and partners, oversee commercial, governance, and compliance matters, and partner with business and product leaders to enable compliant product launches and partnerships.
Requirements
- Active U.S. bar membership and J.D. from an accredited law school
- 8+ years of legal experience, including significant in-house or fintech/crypto exposure
- Working knowledge of securities, commodities, and payments law
- Experience managing teams and working with cross-functional stakeholders
- Comfortable with ambiguity and deeply curious about the evolving digital asset landscape

- Maintain alignment between Sei Labs and the Sei Development Foundation on key strategic initiatives
