Design Engineer
About the Role
You will own the behavioral layer of product UI: define interaction models, state transitions, and sequencing; design motion systems, easing, and timing; and build high-fidelity, motion-first prototypes in code. You will rapidly explore variants, validate UX decisions with React/Next.js prototypes, and translate behaviors into reusable tokens and component specs. You will collaborate with designers to simplify complexity and with engineers to ensure feasible, performant implementations. You will also design loading and feedback patterns, pressure-test edge states, and raise the interaction quality bar across the product.
Requirements
- 5+ years in a hybrid design and engineering role
- Strong GSAP or Framer Motion skills
- Experience building prototypes in React and Next.js
- Deep understanding of timing, easing, and motion hierarchy
- Strong visual craft including spacing and type alignment
- Knowledge of animation performance and avoiding layout thrash
- Ability to communicate behavior through prototypes and diagrams
- High attention to interaction detail and quality
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with design-system and engineering teams
- Design loading behaviors and diagnose UX friction
