Engineer, External Relations / Developer Advocate

About the Role

You will write and ship code across multiple projects, and explain how those systems work to external audiences. You will produce clear documentation, tutorials, and code samples; participate in technical conversations on GitHub and community channels; support prospects with demos and technical walkthroughs; and represent the product at meetups and conferences.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer (backend, full-stack, or systems)
  • Deep practical and conceptual knowledge of Bitcoin or Lightning
  • Experience with Rust
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Ability to explain technical systems through code, diagrams, and writing
  • Comfortable engaging on GitHub, Telegram, podcasts, and in-person events
  • Product-minded and curious
  • Experience in fintech or core banking platforms (bonus)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to core projects (Cala, Bria, Lana) by shipping features and improvements
  • Produce clear, accurate, and developer-friendly documentation and onboarding flows
  • Write tutorials, code samples, and blog posts that explain how and why to build with the platform
  • Engage publicly in technical conversations on GitHub issues, community chats, and events
  • Participate in sales conversations, demos, and technical walkthroughs to help prospects and partners
  • Represent the company at meetups, conferences, and online conversations
  • Champion clarity internally and externally about how the technology stack works
