Engineering Manager, Platform
About the Role
You will lead, coach, and grow a team of platform engineers focused on infrastructure, DevOps, and developer experience. You will set technical direction for platform architecture, oversee cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines, and balance short-term delivery with long-term investments in tooling and reliability. You will own incident management and on-call sustainability, improve onboarding and CI/CD workflows, and collaborate closely with product engineering, security, and compliance to tie platform initiatives to business impact.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering with 3+ years managing and growing teams
- Strong technical background in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, ArgoCD, Datadog, PostgreSQL, CI/CD tooling, and GitOps
- Experience operating production systems and supporting on-call rotations
- Ability to set technical direction across developer experience and infrastructure
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with focus on business impact
Responsibilities

- Set technical direction for platform architecture and execute the roadmap
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term investments in tooling, infrastructure, and reliability
- Oversee cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational tooling in a regulated environment
- Improve developer productivity by reducing friction in onboarding, CI/CD, and local-to-prod workflows
- Ensure systems are secure, scalable, observable, and resilient
- Own incident management practices, postmortems, and sustainability of the on-call rotation
- Collaborate closely with product engineering, security, and compliance stakeholders
- Advocate for platform initiatives by tying technical work to business and customer impact
