Fiat Accountant
About the Role
You will support the monthly financial close, perform general ledger reconciliations, and prepare management reporting and financial statements under US GAAP. You will record and reconcile payroll and related accounts, maintain schedules for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, investments and leases, assist with audit preparation and statutory filings, evaluate and improve controls and accounting processes, and collaborate with Treasury, FP&A and Crypto teams to streamline workflows.
Requirements
- CPA or working towards certification
- 3-4 years of Big 4 experience
- 1-2+ years of practical accounting experience is an asset
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and reporting requirements
- Ability to research and resolve technical and operating accounting issues
- Ability to take initiative and meet tight turnaround times and deadlines
- Experience working with a heavy volume of data from multiple sources
- Keen attention to detail and solid organizational skills
- NetSuite or similar ERP experience is an asset
Responsibilities
- Support monthly financial close, including general ledger reconciliation, analytics, and preparation of management reporting and financial statements under US GAAP
- Prepare and own schedules and reconciliations for accruals, prepaids, deposits, fixed assets, investments, leases (ASC 842), intercompany accounts, payroll, and share-based compensation
- Record and reconcile payroll accounts including bonuses, commissions, and PTO
- Perform general bookkeeping and day-to-day ad hoc accounting tasks
- Assist with audit preparation, statutory filings, and compliance requirements
- Review control matrices and process narratives and support controls evaluation
- Improve accounting processes to increase automation, efficiency, and decrease close timelines
- Partner cross-functionally with Crypto, Treasury, and FP&A to streamline workflows
