Forward Deployed Engineer
About the Role
You will split your time between client-facing technical leadership and core platform engineering. You will guide customers through integrations, develop and own demos and documentation, lead post-sales technical integrations end-to-end, and translate field insights into scalable platform features. You will write well-tested code, participate in reviews, and collaborate with product, design, and sales. You will occasionally travel internationally and maintain flexible hours to support global clients.
Requirements
- 5+ years professional programming experience building cloud applications and services
- Expertise building, consuming, and documenting scalable, resilient APIs and services
- Proven full-stack experience across modern web frontends and backend distributed systems
- Proven client-facing experience interfacing with external technical teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear technical communication
- Experience with TypeScript, NodeJS, and React (Python a plus)
- Experience with cloud storage solutions (SQL, Blob, Document, Search)
- Experience with AWS infrastructure, DataDog, and GitHub CI/CD
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark, Iceberg, Hive, Kafka, Presto (plus)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent experience
- Passion for code quality, continuous delivery, automated testing, and incident response
Responsibilities
- Act as trusted technical advisor to strategic clients
- Provide technical guidance during pre-sales to design solutions and help close deals
- Develop, own, and maintain high-quality demos and technical documentation
- Master and support backend data integrations and frontend application integrations
- Lead post-sales technical integrations and own client problems end-to-end
- Synthesize field challenges into actionable product roadmap initiatives
- Design and build scalable platform-level solutions and new features
- Write well-designed, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge
- Partner with designers, product managers, sales, and engineers to solve customer problems
