Forward Deployed Software Engineer (TS/SCI)
About the Role
You will operate at the intersection of technology and mission operations, building, deploying, and iterating systems in real operational environments. You will deliver end-to-end solutions from prototype to production, gather requirements, design architectures, implement and test code, deploy and support services, and respond to incidents. You will work across the stack—writing backend code, tuning ML models, configuring cloud infrastructure, and debugging data pipelines—while communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
Requirements
- Background in full-stack or backend engineering using Node.js Python Postgres SQL and React
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and strong software engineering fundamentals
- Demonstrated ability to learn cloud platforms AI ML tools distributed systems and data processing frameworks rapidly
- High ownership with ability to set goals execute with urgency and deliver outcomes in ambiguous environments
- Ability to work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate clearly
- Comfort working across the stack including backend code ML model tuning cloud infrastructure and data pipeline debugging
- Active TS/SCI clearance
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy greenfield technical solutions from prototype to production
- Learn and apply new technologies rapidly to meet mission needs
- Translate ambiguous stakeholder needs into actionable engineering work
- Own end-to-end delivery including requirements gathering architecture implementation testing deployment and production support
- Identify diagnose and resolve critical onsite issues and implement fixes quickly
- Anticipate and address customer-side procedural bottlenecks and navigate approvals
- Maintain documentation and conduct knowledge transfer using Notion and Jira
- Capture operator feedback and incorporate it into product and engineering practices
