Global Investigator - Federal Law Enforcement

About the Role

You will conduct ad hoc and time-sensitive blockchain investigations into phishing, exploits, hacks, ransomware, terrorism finance, money laundering, account takeovers, and SIM swap activity. You will analyze blockchain data, produce written reports, and deliver briefings to stakeholders. You will conduct long-term research into categories of blockchain crime, develop scalable investigative solutions, and build relationships with industry partners to expand attribution sources. You will frequently collaborate with engineers and data scientists and operate in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.

Requirements

  • Experience as an investigator or analyst, preferably 3-5 years combined experience
  • Practical experience with virtual currencies and blockchain analysis is a plus and enthusiasm to learn blockchain topics
  • Experience briefing senior leaders and presenting findings
  • Ability to structure problems and prioritize critical issues
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and with people at all levels
  • Commitment to supporting teammates
  • Minimum of a Public Trust Clearance
  • Onsite presence required and could be up to five days per week in the office

Responsibilities

  • Investigate complex cases involving phishing, blockchain exploits, hacks, terrorism finance, account takeovers, money laundering, SIM swaps, ransomware, and other illicit blockchain activity
  • Perform time-sensitive blockchain analysis and ad hoc investigations
  • Produce written investigative reports and deliver briefings to customers and senior stakeholders
  • Conduct long-term research on blockchain crime and translate findings into actionable intelligence
  • Develop and implement scalable investigative solutions in collaboration with engineering and data science teams
  • Identify, build, and manage relationships with industry partners to expand attribution sources
  • Handle sensitive and complex investigations for external partners
