Global Investigator - National Security
About the Role
You will conduct ad hoc and time-sensitive investigations into illicit blockchain activity. You will perform blockchain analysis, produce written reports, and deliver briefings to customers and senior leaders. You will conduct long-term research into crime typologies, manage sensitive cases, and build external partnerships to expand attribution sources. You will collaborate with engineers and data scientists, prioritize critical issues, and communicate complex findings clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
- 3-5 years combined experience as an investigator or analyst in private or public sector
- Experience briefing senior leaders and stakeholders
- Practical experience with virtual currencies and blockchain analysis (preferred); strong motivation to learn if lacking direct experience
- Proven ability to structure problems and prioritize critical issues
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in writing and verbally for technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, changing environment and work collaboratively across functions
- Commitment to supporting teammates and accomplishing shared missions
Responsibilities
- Investigate complex cases involving phishing, blockchain exploits, hacks, terrorism finance, account takeovers, money laundering, SIM swaps, and ransomware
- Conduct time-sensitive blockchain analysis and trace transactions
- Produce written intelligence reports and deliver oral briefings to stakeholders
- Conduct long-term research into blockchain crime typologies and produce actionable intelligence
- Manage sensitive investigations and maintain operational security
- Identify and build partnerships to add attribution sources at scale
- Prioritize critical issues and structure investigative work accordingly
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams
