Governance Program Manager
About the Role
You will run and improve the governance systems that enable decentralized decision making. You will schedule and moderate community calls, maintain governance documentation, manage proposal timelines, and plan network upgrades. You will coordinate technical deliveries with vendors and engineering, move improvement proposals from draft to decision, and facilitate consensus among authors, reviewers, implementers, and token holders. You will create and maintain playbooks, charters, and lifecycle frameworks, onboard new participants through guides and workshops, and communicate governance decisions to diverse global audiences.
Requirements
- 2-5 years in protocol governance, open-source program management, or complex stakeholder coordination
- Demonstrated experience delivering governance tooling and processes on-chain or off-chain
- Excellent written and verbal communication with experience managing public discourse and complex stakeholders
- Experience operating across cultures and time zones in remote-first environments
- Proficiency with GitHub and GitHub API
- Understanding of governance smart contracts
- Technical tooling background including drafting PRDs and coordinating execution with vendors
- Familiarity with game theory and mechanism design
- Fluency in or familiarity with Mandarin is a plus
Responsibilities
- Run the daily governance workflow including scheduling and moderating community calls, maintaining documentation, and managing proposal timelines
- Plan and coordinate network upgrade timelines
- Ship governance-related work with vendors and coordinate technical execution with engineering
- Advance Filecoin Improvement Proposals from draft to decision and facilitate consensus among stakeholders
- Build and maintain governance lifecycle frameworks, playbooks, charters, and clear specifications
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deploy governance tooling without downtime
- Onboard new governance participants through guides, workshops, AMAs, and communications
- Communicate governance decisions to global audiences and represent governance in panels and publications
