Governance Research and Experiments Lead

About the Role

You will lead and coordinate governance research to inform the design of a bi-cameral governance system. You will manage a network of external experts, design and run 4–6 month experiments, implement research programs supported by grants, and synthesize results into actionable design recommendations. You will design experiment protocols, run simulations (e.g., in Python), analyze results, and communicate findings to stakeholders and academic audiences. You will also create and maintain a long-term research strategy that prioritizes questions and ensures continuous iteration and learning.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of governance, DAOs, and related academic research
  • Established relationships with academia and expert networks
  • Experience overseeing external contributors and working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience publishing academic papers and working in academia
  • Ability to speak at academic conferences
  • Ability to write and run simulations (for example using Python)
  • Preference for candidates based outside the United States
