Head of DeFi and OPM
About the Role
You will act as the CEO of OP Mainnet, owning its P&L, growth trajectory, and strategic positioning. You will define the long‑term vision and north‑star metrics, lead quarterly planning, and coordinate Product, BD, Partnerships, and Marketing to prioritize chain-specific roadmap items. You will design and oversee incentive and capital deployment strategies, translate ecosystem needs into technical feedback for the OP Stack, and ensure OP Mainnet is a proving ground for new features. You will drive protocol and ecosystem growth, manage partner integrations, own launch readiness for key milestones, and represent OP Mainnet publicly when appropriate. You will build clear metrics and reporting for leadership and governance stakeholders and operate as the bridge between OP Mainnet execution and Foundation strategy.
Requirements
- 6–10+ years in DeFi, L1/L2, or crypto native ecosystem leadership
- Experience as a chain GM, growth lead, or head of protocol business development
- Ability to design incentives and capital deployment strategies
- Proven track record growing ecosystems and increasing TVL and user activity
- Strong cross functional stakeholder management and diplomatic execution
- Credible public voice with trust of developers, partners, and governance participants
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the long term vision and north star metrics for OP Mainnet
- Own P&L and single point accountability for OP Mainnet performance
- Lead quarterly planning across Product, BD, and Marketing
- Own OP Mainnet narrative internally and externally
- Drive protocol and ecosystem growth including DeFi, stablecoins, and infrastructure
- Identify and prioritize partner integrations that drive TVL and user activity
- Oversee incentive design and capital deployment strategies
- Create playbooks for high impact use cases and coordinate partner execution
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to set OP Mainnet roadmap priorities
- Translate ecosystem needs into actionable technical feedback for the OP Stack
- Ensure OP Mainnet serves as a proving ground for new stack features
- Partner with Marketing to shape narrative and launch readiness for milestones
- Serve as public facing spokesperson where appropriate
- Define, own, and report on key metrics (TVL, DAU/MAU, volume, active protocols, fee revenue, liquidity growth)
- Operate as the bridge between OP Mainnet execution and Foundation strategy
