Head of Security
About the Role
You will organize, direct, and scale software and hardware security efforts across the company and the World network. You will lead multiple security teams, work closely with product, engineering, operations, fraud, legal, and privacy partners, and define strategies to secure devices, applications, and infrastructure. You will threat model systems, map attacker motives, design multilayer defenses from device to fleet monitoring, oversee incident response, and ensure security technologies and processes are robust enough to be publicly documented for third party verification. You will report security metrics to senior leadership and tackle scalability challenges while supporting and developing security talent.
Requirements
- Proven ability to manage a global security organization
- Experience leading hardware security and software security efforts
- Experience managing red team, infrastructure, and IT security functions
- Deep understanding of hardware and software attacks
- Experience threat modeling complex systems
- Ability to support senior security leaders and grow junior talent
- Demonstrated commitment to transparency in security practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively across product, engineering, operations, fraud, legal, and privacy
Responsibilities
- Scale and lead multiple security teams including hardware security, software security, red team, infrastructure and IT security
- Define and execute security strategy with product and engineering
- Report security metrics and progress to senior leadership
- Address scalability issues related to security solutions
- Oversee design and implementation of hardware level defenses
- Oversee design and implementation of software level defenses
- Threat model protocols, devices, applications, and infrastructure
- Map attacker motives and potential threat vectors
- Build multilayer defense strategies from device security to global fleet monitoring
- Ensure security systems and processes can be fully documented for public verification
- Oversee infrastructure security, internal security, and incident response
- Collaborate cross-functionally with fraud, data science, legal, and privacy teams
