High Voltage Electrical Design Engineer
About the Role
You will perform detailed electrical design and power system studies for medium to extra high voltage substation facilities. You will execute load flow and short circuit studies, perform protective relay coordination and protection analysis, and size AC/DC loads and batteries. You will develop one-line diagrams, AC/DC control schematics, wiring drawings, cable schedules, and relaying and metering specifications. You will coordinate QA/QC design reviews, sign off procurement and construction documents, mentor and guide junior engineers, and travel to job sites as required. You must follow applicable IEC and ANSI standards and apply advanced engineering practices to solve complex design problems.
Requirements
- BSEE or BSCE or M.S. in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical/substation engineering experience
- Professional registration or expectation to achieve professional registration within a specified time period
- Ability to sit for long periods and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
- Close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Occasional travel
