Investment Associate (with focus on Liquid Strategies)
About the Role
You will focus on liquid token investing and support the full investment lifecycle. You will source and evaluate liquid investment opportunities, develop high-conviction investment theses combining fundamental, quantitative and on-chain analysis, perform due diligence, monitor and optimise the liquid token portfolio, and support ecosystem building and administrative coordination.
Requirements
- Strong network in the New York crypto ecosystem to source venture deals
- Foundational experience constructing derivatives strategies including options and perps and executing OTC and on-screen
- Ability to identify analyse and execute yield strategies across money market protocols staking and yield farming
- Experience interacting with DeFi protocols via multisigs and reviewing white papers and crypto projects
- Proficiency with on-chain analytics tools such as Dune Nansen Token Terminal Artemis DeFiLlama Glassnode or ability to query on-chain data directly
- Familiarity with Crypto Twitter Discord and Etherscan to support sourcing and diligence
- Ability to build and stress-test token models including supply schedules FDV vs circulating emissions and staking yields
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science Finance Economics or related field or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment research trading equity research hedge funds or venture capital (liquid crypto experience strongly preferred)
- Strong written and analytical skills for deal analysis and internal reporting
- Strong relationship building skills and ability to network with project founders and community
- Nice to have: technical background or experience in data science and SQL Python for data analysis and backtesting
Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate new liquid investment opportunities across tokens protocols and ecosystems
- Develop investment theses using fundamental quantitative and on-chain analysis
- Perform due diligence including market research product and competitive analysis and technical diligence
- Monitor and analyse performance of the liquid token portfolio and support portfolio optimisation and risk management
- Contribute to ecosystem building by organising activities participating in local events and networking with founders
- Coordinate administrative tasks with auditors custody providers and cap table management tools
