iOS Engineer
About the Role
You will build and improve the ways people pay using the iOS app. You will design and implement user-friendly and maintainable iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI and help other engineers with frontend work. You will take ownership of frontend projects from planning through release and work on features such as in-store payments, cross-border transfers, and moving money between bank accounts and Wave accounts. You may occasionally work on backend or Android tasks and are expected to travel to operational markets at least once a year.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with at least 2 years building iOS applications
- Experience using Swift and SwiftUI
- Native or fluent English
- Be based in one of the talent hub countries (UK Spain USA Canada Kenya Ghana) or in operating markets in Africa including Senegal Côte d'Ivoire or Burkina Faso
Responsibilities
- Build and improve payment features for the iOS app
- Develop user-friendly and maintainable iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI
- Support and help other engineers improve their frontend skills
- Work on projects including in-store payments cross-border transfers and bank transfers
- Own frontend projects from planning through release
- Perform occasional backend or Android tasks as needed
- Travel to operational markets at least once a year
