Lead Blockchain Payments Engineer - Fiat Ramps

About the Role

Requirements

• Proven experience building fiat onramps end-to-end
• Deep experience with high-throughput low-latency distributed systems or payments platforms
• Fluency in systems languages such as Rust or Go or strong systems experience with TypeScript Node or Python
• Expert-level knowledge of Postgres including transactions indexing and locking
• Familiarity with Redis and event/OLAP stores such as Kafka Redpanda and ClickHouse
• Mastery of gRPC and REST best practices including versioning authN Z and idempotency
• Experience with event-driven design patterns including queues outbox inbox and Sagas
• Practical security and key management experience including HSM KMS and secrets hygiene
• Experience implementing KYC AML sanctions and Travel Rule plumbing
• Ownership-driven and comfortable working in high-ambiguity environments

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payment orchestration for bank rails and card networks
• Design and implement idempotent fault-tolerant APIs and webhook processing
• Integrate and manage third-party connectivity and payment providers
• Build and scale a low-latency real-time risk engine
• Implement KYC AML primitives and audit-ready decision journaling
• Ship a double-entry ledger and automated reconciliation jobs
• Develop daily break detection and automated remediation workflows
• Manage hot-wallet flows, transaction creation, and crypto delivery
• Implement reliability patterns SLOs retries backoffs dead-letter queues and canary releases
• Instrument systems with traces metrics and logs and build ops dashboards
• Participate in the production on-call rotation
• Drive features from concept through production in cross-functional collaboration
