Lead Technical Writer
About the Role
You will own conceptual overviews, how-tos, references, and tutorials for TON developers. You will define and maintain information architecture and page taxonomy, drive redirects and IA changes, and lead the documentation roadmap with prioritized epics and clear completion criteria. You will establish release gates and governance, collaborate with engineering and product teams to extract and validate technical details, and translate advanced concepts into clear, audience-appropriate content with diagrams, code samples, and short videos. You will maintain style guides and templates, evaluate and improve docs-as-code workflows, apply SEO best practices, gather and analyze developer feedback, set documentation OKRs and KPIs, and manage changelogs, deprecations, and versioning.
Requirements
- Proven experience creating documentation for developer products
- Proficiency with Markdown MDX OpenAPI Swagger static site generators Git and GitHub
- Ability to quickly learn complex technical concepts and translate them into clear precise documentation with attention to accuracy consistency and readability
- Comfortable working with engineering and product teams to gather technical information define content structures and create visuals
- Proactively identify gaps anticipate use cases and advocate for fixes that reduce developer friction
- Self-directed inquisitive and able to move projects forward amid ambiguity
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards
Responsibilities
- Own conceptual overviews, how-tos, references, and tutorials for developers
- Own information architecture and page taxonomy and drive redirects and IA changes
- Lead the documentation roadmap with prioritized epics, resourcing, and completion criteria
- Establish release gates and governance including CODEOWNERS, review SLAs, doc-as-code, and branch protections
- Extract technical details, validate behavior, and build expertise across the stack through collaboration
- Translate advanced concepts into clear, accurate, audience-appropriate content
- Tailor depth and examples to different experience levels and ensure correctness and consistency
- Maintain and evolve style guides, templates, and quality checks
- Evaluate and improve docs-as-code workflows for build test preview and publish
- Gather and analyze developer feedback and prioritize improvements
- Translate advanced concepts into diagrams, code samples, and short videos
- Track emerging documentation patterns and incorporate them into strategy
- Apply SEO best practices to increase content visibility and adoption
- Set documentation OKRs and KPIs and report them monthly
- Publish production-grade patterns and reference architectures with diagrams, repos, and checklists
- Own changelog deprecation and versioning and instrument docs for outcomes using telemetry and link checks
