Legal Counsel
About the Role
You will provide practical, actionable legal advice to business teams to help them move quickly while remaining compliant. You will review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, monitor and interpret evolving regulations in financial services privacy and crypto, and identify legal risks for new products. You will build scalable legal processes, liaise with regulators and external counsel, and craft pragmatic, business-oriented solutions.
Requirements
- LL.B. or J.D. and active membership in a Canadian provincial bar
- 4+ years of legal experience in law firm or in-house
- Strong foundation in commercial and corporate law with emphasis on contracts and negotiation
- Excellent judgment communication and problem-solving skills
- Proactive adaptable and entrepreneurial mindset
- Genuine curiosity about fintech crypto and technology’s impact on financial services
- Experience in fintech crypto or financial services (nice to have)
- Experience in fast-growing or startup environments (nice to have)
- Fluency in French (nice to have)
