Member of Technical Staff, Transparency (Backend Engineer)
About the Role
You will improve the client onboarding experience by designing and implementing back-end APIs and front-end enhancements, capture and preserve critical data for record keeping and auditing, and build systems that support transaction monitoring, screening, and risk detection. You will coordinate with compliance, customer experience, legal, and external systems, lead medium-to-large projects end-to-end with minimal oversight, break work into tasks and estimates, and mentor teammates while maintaining high code quality and test infrastructure.
Requirements
- Real world experience building complex distributed systems
- Deep appreciation for code quality, test infrastructure, and extensible architecture
- Strong computer science fundamentals including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment and context switch between multiple tasks
- Proven collaboration skills and experience mentoring others
- Bonus: Experience implementing regulatory compliance controls in financial services
- Bonus: Design and implementation experience with GraphQL, gRPC, or Temporal
- Bonus: Experience diving into open source projects to root cause bugs
