Mining Operations Technician
About the Role
You will provide hands-on support for bitcoin mining operations, performing equipment handling, basic miner maintenance, and monitoring systems to keep production running. You will log and track shipments, assist with installations, troubleshoot and reboot equipment by phone or onsite, monitor temperatures and HVAC or power issues, and help with building and electrical maintenance as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work without supervision
- Able to lift 50-75 lbs
- Reliable self-transportation
- No certifications or licenses required
- Proactive, helpful, conscientious, and team oriented
Responsibilities
- Log and scan equipment shipments and maintain inventory records
- Maintain tracking spreadsheets and databases and open or update tracking tickets
- Assist with installation and reorganization of mining equipment
- Perform basic maintenance on miners, including fan and power supply replacement
- Monitor mining pool data and communicate significant changes
- Identify and report issues affecting the production environment
- Escort approved visitors through facility locations to work on equipment
- Provide phone support including basic troubleshooting and equipment reboots
- Assist facilities with building and electrical maintenance and communicate HVAC or power issues
- Monitor temperatures in data centers and office spaces and report abrupt changes
