Motion Designer (Contract-to-Perm)
About the Role
You will design and animate motion assets that make complex ideas clear and engaging. You will turn static designs into polished, expressive animations for campaigns, explainers, product demos, livestreams, and social content. You will collaborate with design and content partners, contribute to storyboarding and concept phases, build reusable motion libraries, and apply tools and techniques (including AI-assisted workflows) to speed production and maintain consistency.
Requirements
- Proven motion design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling, timing, and design craft
- Strong foundation in After Effects and Lottie and familiarity with handoff specifications
- Experience with Figma, Rive, or similar design/prototyping tools
- Solid grasp of typography, layout, color, and animation principles
- Experience building or maintaining motion libraries and reusable assets
- Comfortable collaborating with designers, art directors, and cross-functional teams
- Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Thoughtful about accessibility and how motion enhances clarity and user experience
- Portfolio that includes 2D and 3D animation, storyboards, logo/title/transition animations, and examples of pacing and narrative
Responsibilities
- Create high-quality motion and animation assets for campaigns, explainers, product demos, livestreams, and social media
- Develop animated logos, transitions, and brand motion to reinforce visual identity
- Design and animate event collateral for conferences, hackathons, and community activations
- Translate static design systems into polished animations with attention to timing, rhythm, and composition
- Collaborate with Design and Content teams to align motion with brand and creative direction
- Contribute to early concept and storyboarding phases to shape motion direction
- Build and maintain motion libraries and reusable assets for consistency and scalability
- Produce platform-native short motion clips for X, TikTok, and Instagram
- Design livestream graphics and dynamic lower-thirds
- Apply AI-assisted tools to accelerate workflows and explore new creative directions
