NYC Lead
About the Role
You will lead the NYC media and narrative strategy, host and produce high-impact events at the Manhattan headquarters, and develop relationships with journalists, editors, and cultural amplifiers. You will pitch timely stories, draft and polish external communications, track media coverage and sentiment, provide analysis to leadership, coordinate with PR agencies, and identify and nurture a cornerstone institutional partnership that amplifies strategic narratives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in media, strategic communications, or editorial roles
- Proven track record of crafting and placing stories that shape market perception
- Deep understanding of narrative leverage in Web3 and crypto
- Established personal network among NYC media professionals
- Ability to host and lead events with confidence and polish
- Outstanding writing and editorial judgment
- Comfortable working autonomously and executing under ambiguity
- Entrepreneurial builder mindset with a bias for action
- Former journalist or newsroom experience (nice to have)
- Familiarity with investor and regulatory media cycles (nice to have)
- Active presence in crypto-native channels (nice to have)
- Experience with protocol foundations or blockchain startups (nice to have)
Responsibilities
- Lead media strategy and NYC narrative to drive visibility
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and podcast hosts
- Plan, host, and run high-impact events at the NYC headquarters
- Identify and develop a cornerstone institutional partnership
- Pitch timely, high-value stories about ecosystem developments and partnerships
- Draft and refine press releases, op-eds, blog posts, talking points, and social media copy
- Track media coverage and sentiment and provide analysis to leadership
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Growth, Communications, Product, and Partnerships teams
- Coordinate and manage outside PR agencies, contractors, and advisors
