Principal Engineer
About the Role
You will architect and evolve the technical foundation of a large player-facing product. You will translate product requirements into scalable engineering solutions, own end-to-end delivery of core features, and design systems for player acquisition, activation, and retention. You will lead experimentation frameworks and scoring engines, define telemetry with Data Science, mentor engineers through architectural guidance, and remove blockers to accelerate delivery. You will use product analytics and customer feedback to validate assumptions and iterate on features.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building scalable consumer or SaaS platforms with strong full-stack or backend depth
- Fluency in TypeScript React Go Node.js and AWS or equivalent cloud-native stacks
- Proven track record designing resilient distributed systems experimentation frameworks or high-performance user-facing products
- Experience contributing to product discovery and driving product-led experimentation
- Ability to simplify complexity and find elegant solutions in ambiguous fast-moving environments
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across engineering design product and commercial partners
- Proven experience providing technical mentorship leading architecture discussions and elevating engineering standards
- Strong delivery discipline balancing prototyping velocity and long-term quality
- Comfort working in a startup or scale-up environment
Responsibilities

- Partner with Product to shape the roadmap using data and customer insights
- Influence long-term technical decisions and accelerate short-term product iteration
- Own end-to-end delivery of core product features
- Design and implement systems for player acquisition activation and retention
- Lead experimentation frameworks scoring systems and targeting engines
- Establish engineering best practices to improve performance reliability and velocity
- Mentor and level up engineers through technical guidance and architectural coaching
- Unblock teams simplify complexity and enable faster decision-making
- Use product analytics experimentation and customer feedback to validate assumptions
- Collaborate with Data Science to design models define telemetry and evaluate impact
- Translate complex product requirements into clear actionable engineering decisions
- Work with GTM BD and Commercial to understand studio workflows and identify opportunities
- Communicate trade-offs risks and options to ensure alignment
