Product Tax Lead
About the Role
You will own the Tax/Product and Engineering relationship end to end and act as the primary tax point of contact across the product lifecycle. You will lead tax design reviews for new features and launches, ensure operational readiness and tax reporting, monitor regulatory developments, translate tax requirements into product and engineering requirements, develop efficient processes for regulatory change, and partner with legal, regulatory, and finance teams to implement tax engines and automation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of combined experience in public accounting or law firms and US-based multinational corporations
- At least 3 years of experience in a tax function supporting product teams
- Proven ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-technical audiences and leadership
- Familiarity with US information reporting requirements and compliance cycles
- Experience managing third party service providers in crypto or fintech contexts
- Knowledge of indirect tax regimes in the US and abroad
- Experience with tax engines and indirect tax software; configuration and implementation experience is a plus
- High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to provide clear guidance amid changing facts
- Enthusiasm for leveraging AI and machine learning in tax processes
- Experience applying generative AI or machine learning in tax or finance operations is a plus
