Programming Lead
About the Role
You will create and execute processes for Devcon programming, coordinate and source volunteer reviewers, organize review groups by expertise, and manage the full speaker application and review lifecycle. You will define application requirements, schedule sessions and room assignments, manage speaker logistics and feedback, master Pretalx, and communicate across global time zones. You will perform operational work (emails, Telegram, Mattermost, etc.), troubleshoot issues, and support on-site activities during Devcon.
Requirements
- Familiarity with the Ethereum ecosystem and its topics
- Experience attending or assisting Ethereum events preferred
- Operational experience with event coordination and project management
- Ability to motivate and manage volunteer reviewers
- Strong communication and expectation management skills
- Ability to remain neutral under pressure and make difficult decisions
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and troubleshoot problems proactively
- Ownership mentality and ability to deliver high-quality results
- Ability to work with a multicultural, distributed team
- Availability to start part-time (~20 hrs/week in April 2026) and ramp to full-time by June
- Availability across global time zones and flexibility for nights and weekends
- Must hold a valid passport and be able to travel to Mumbai, India for Devcon (Q4 2026)
Responsibilities
- Create and execute programming processes
- Source and coordinate volunteer reviewers
- Organize reviewers into expertise-based review groups
- Coordinate timely and fair review of speaker applications
- Define the application process and submission requirements
- Schedule sessions and assign rooms to minimize topic overlap
- Manage speaker logistics throughout the year
- Provide feedback to speakers and maintain feedback loops
- Master and use Pretalx for program management
- Communicate and coordinate across global time zones
- Support on-site programming operations during Devcon
