Research Lead
About the Role
You will lead research at the intersection of market structure, protocol and mechanism design, and user behavior. You will conduct internal and external research projects, create educational content, collaborate with Engineering and Growth to translate insights into product and protocol decisions, own and improve data infrastructure and tooling, define protocol health and trader behavior metrics, and engage with ecosystem partners and the community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Math, Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Economics or related field
- 4+ years working in a technical role such as Developer, Analyst, Quant, or Data Scientist
- 2+ years working with blockchain or order book data (indexing blocks, Dune, exchange market data)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Project management and time management skills with ability to multitask
- Proficiency with data visualization tools
- Entrepreneurial mindset and strong intellectual curiosity
- Nice to have: experience with trading, HFT, market structure, and derivatives
- Nice to have: experience with SQL, Python, Pandas, xarray, Mode, Amplitude, BigQuery
Responsibilities
- Drive strategic research on market structure, protocol design, and user behavior
- Conduct research into market structure, protocol mechanics, and incentive design
- Perform internal research to understand user behavior, product performance, and growth opportunities
- Lead external-facing research and contribute to public discussion on protocol design and DeFi
- Create educational content to improve trader and user sophistication
- Collaborate with Engineering to communicate research findings to technical audiences
- Collaborate with Growth to define audience segments and inform product decisions
- Lead deep exploratory research on open-ended product and protocol questions
- Own and enhance data infrastructure and promote data best practices
- Define key metrics for protocol health and trader behavior
- Build tools and pipelines to support research reproducibility and insight generation
- Engage with ecosystem partners and the broader user community
