Senior Analytics Engineer
About the Role
You will own Rain's core data models and analytics layer, turning raw logs into trusted, reusable datasets and company-wide metrics. You will partner with product, BD, customer success, compliance, and executives to answer critical business questions, build dashboards, enforce data quality, and continuously improve the analytics stack.
Requirements
- Builder mentality with ownership of ingestion, modeling, metrics, and dashboards
- Deep proficiency in SQL and experience building dimensional or semantic models
- Hands-on experience with dbt and modern ELT tooling
- Experience with orchestration frameworks such as Airflow
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
- 5–7+ years in analytics engineering, data analytics, or data engineering roles
- Ability to translate data into strategic recommendations and communicate complex concepts clearly
- Customer-focused approach to enable enterprise clients and customer-facing teams
Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to translate data needs into modeling and reporting requirements
- Design, build, and maintain core data models (customer, account, transaction, product usage) using tools like dbt
- Define and maintain company-wide metrics for business health, customer engagement, product usage, transaction volumes, and payment success rates
- Develop dashboards and self-serve analytics layers for non-technical teams to explore data and track performance
- Analyze cross-customer and cross-product trends to surface insights for product, go-to-market, and operations
- Establish and enforce data quality standards, testing, documentation, and governance
- Continuously evaluate and improve the analytics stack for performance, reliability, and usability
