Senior Backend Engineer (Fee Consolidation Service)
About the Role
You will design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs that interact with crypto-native concepts. You will collaborate with frontend engineers and product to translate requirements into reliable backend interfaces, improve performance and reliability, implement monitoring and testing, and document systems. You will act as a senior technical contributor and help raise engineering standards through code reviews, strong abstractions, and high-quality production code.
Requirements
- Located in the EMEA region
- Strong professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Extensive experience working as a senior backend engineer on production systems
- Proven ability to design and maintain high-quality APIs
- Practical familiarity with crypto products and ecosystems as a user
- Solid understanding of document databases and caching systems such as MongoDB and Redis
- Experience with backend architecture and system design in distributed environments
- Deep knowledge of testing principles and backend testing frameworks
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams
- Proactive and self-directed with ownership of backend domains
- Ability to write maintainable, scalable, production-grade code
- Very strong written and spoken English
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science is a plus
- Development experience in blockchain or Web3 systems is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs

- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers and product to translate requirements
- Contribute to the architecture of scalable and robust backend solutions
- Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews and clear abstractions
- Identify performance and reliability bottlenecks and improve system behavior
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and debugging tooling
- Build and maintain comprehensive automated test suites
- Act as a senior technical contributor and support design discussions
- Document APIs, system behavior, and technical decisions
