Senior Backend Engineer
About the Role
You will design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js (Express). You will write and maintain tests to ensure code quality, readability, and maintainability. You will deploy and operate services on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Heroku) and manage MongoDB databases. You will own end-to-end features for a crypto trading product and drive projects from specification to production.
Requirements
- 3-5 years software engineering experience
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js (Express)
- Experience with MongoDB
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices (AWS, GCP, Heroku)
- Strong testing and code quality practices
- Self-directed, high-agency work style and ability to take ownership of projects
- Crypto experience is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js (Express)
- Write and maintain automated tests to ensure reliability and maintainability
- Manage and optimize MongoDB data models and queries
- Deploy, monitor, and operate services on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Heroku
- Take ownership of end-to-end features and drive projects to production
- Adhere to and promote best-practice coding standards for readability and maintainability
- Apply DevOps and cloud infrastructure best practices to improve reliability and deployment workflows
