Senior Backend Engineer (Partner Service)
About the Role
You will design, build, and maintain backend systems and versioned APIs used by frontend and partner-facing applications. You will own API contracts, improve system architecture for scalability and reliability, optimize performance and caching, implement monitoring and logging, and create comprehensive test suites. You will review code, mentor colleagues, troubleshoot production issues, and document technical decisions and APIs.
Requirements
- Be located in the EMEA region
- Strong professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Extensive experience as a senior backend engineer on production systems
- Proven ability to design clean maintainable and scalable APIs
- Solid understanding of document databases and caching systems such as MongoDB and Redis
- Experience with backend architecture and system design in distributed environments
- Deep knowledge of testing principles and modern testing frameworks
- Very strong written and spoken English
- Proactive self-directed and comfortable taking ownership of backend domains
- Ability to write maintainable scalable production-grade code
- Experience or interest in blockchain or EVM-based systems is a plus
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain backend systems and APIs
- Own API contracts and backend interfaces used by frontend applications and partners
- Contribute to architecture of scalable and robust backend solutions
- Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews and clean readable code
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize system behavior data access patterns and caching strategies
- Implement and maintain monitoring logging and debugging tooling
- Build and maintain comprehensive test suites including unit integration and end-to-end tests
- Support other engineers through collaboration reviews and design discussions
- Analyze complex technical problems and propose pragmatic production-ready solutions
- Document APIs systems and technical decisions
