Senior Backend Engineer - Perps
About the Role
You will extend the API stack to integrate Hyperliquid ecosystem projects and perps features, implement programmatic trading primitives such as TWAP and perps, and build performant TypeScript backend systems. You will collaborate with the Expansion PM and other backend engineers to improve routing and user flows, evaluate integration opportunities, ensure scalability and reliability for same-chain and cross-chain trading, participate in code reviews, contribute to system design, and produce documentation.
Requirements
- Located in the EMEA region
- Familiarity with Hyperliquid architecture, including builder codes, HIP-3, precompiles, and HyperEVM
- Experience with orderbook fundamentals and programmatic trading
- Strong backend engineering experience with EVM integration patterns
- Proficiency in TypeScript for building scalable APIs and backend systems
- Experience with cross-chain infrastructure and bridges
- Ability to drive integrations and feature proposals independently
- Bonus: familiarity with Solana, Bitcoin, or mobile backend development
Responsibilities
