Senior Backend Engineer, Platform
About the Role
You will lead the backend development of the new mobile application. You will design, implement, and maintain high-performance microservices that support low-latency and high-throughput operations. You will develop and optimize the mobile API to ensure a seamless and scalable experience for mobile users. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design systems that meet operational and business goals. You will research and implement cloud-native architectures and work with cloud providers and container orchestration tools. You will use Node.js and TypeScript, work with relational and NoSQL databases, and rely on monitoring and logging frameworks to troubleshoot production issues.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in backend development with focus on scalable infrastructure
- Strong understanding of system design principles distributed systems and scalability
- Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience with other backend languages (advantage)
- Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases including schema design query optimization and troubleshooting
- Proven track record of designing and deploying microservices-based architectures in production
- Hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS GCP Azure) and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes Docker)
- Experience with monitoring and logging frameworks (Datadog Prometheus Grafana ELK)
- Deep understanding of REST APIs and event-driven architectures
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot production issues
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and excel in a fast-paced environment
