Senior Backend Engineer (Stellar Ecosystem)
About the Role
You will design, implement, and maintain backend systems and APIs that scale and perform under production load. You will architect solutions, optimize performance, implement monitoring and testing, and maintain high coding standards. You will conduct code reviews, document APIs and technical processes, mentor junior developers, and troubleshoot complex technical problems to deliver robust solutions.
Requirements
- Be located in the EMEA region
- Strong experience with TypeScript
- Experience with the Stellar network in production
- Experience in the blockchain space and familiarity with EVM ecosystems (preferred)
- Extensive professional experience at senior or lead backend engineer level
- Solid understanding of document databases and caching mechanisms
- Experience in software design and system architecture
- Strong knowledge of testing frameworks and best practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Proactive mindset and ability to work autonomously
- Ability to write maintainable, scalable, production-grade code
- Curiosity for new technologies
- Very strong written and verbal English skills
- Experience with Stellar Soroban smart contracts (preferred)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and maintenance of backend systems and APIs
- Architect and implement scalable and robust backend solutions
- Maintain high coding standards and conduct code reviews
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize code and algorithms to improve performance
- Implement monitoring and debugging tools to ensure high availability
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers
- Analyze complex technical problems and propose effective solutions
- Document code, APIs, and technical processes
