Senior Counsel, Privacy
About the Role
You will co-architect and operationalize a high-functioning legal practice focused on privacy, product, IP, and marketing legal issues. You will develop and execute global privacy strategies, draft and maintain privacy policies, manage regulatory investigations and incident responses, and provide clear legal counsel to cross-functional stakeholders. You will create tools and resources to enable consistent privacy advice, maintain subject-matter expertise in evolving privacy and AI laws, and take ownership of high-impact projects while meeting tight deadlines.
Requirements
- J.D. degree or foreign equivalent and membership in at least one US state bar
- 8+ years of legal experience including law firm and/or in-house or government experience
- Experience with global privacy laws and regulations including GDPR LGPD and APAC privacy laws
- Experience advising on privacy legal risks and mitigations
- Experience handling privacy regulatory responses and incident response management
- Proven problem-solving communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven business judgment and client counseling experience
- Experience working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent academic credentials
- Fluent in English
- Preferred experience: in-house multinational technology counsel experience and familiarity with blockchain and cryptocurrency; German language ability a plus
