Senior Data Engineer, Graph Analytics
About the Role
You will build scalable graph systems that analyze large cryptocurrency transaction networks. You will design and implement real-time graph algorithms, leverage distributed databases and graph processors, and integrate diverse data inputs from raw blockchain data to model outputs. You will collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and investigators to translate research into production features, optimize large-scale distributed data processing, communicate complex technical details to varied audiences, and own delivery of features end to end.
Requirements
- Academic background in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics)
- Strong knowledge of algorithm design and data structures
- Experience with large-scale distributed data processing systems such as Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop, and Dask
- Experience with distributed graph databases
- Experience translating academic research into production features
- Proficient in Python and SQL
- Knowledge of basic graph theory concepts
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to lead and execute features end to end
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver results quickly
Responsibilities

- Research and evaluate graph-native technologies for data science and engineering use
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and investigators to define requirements and user stories
- Implement real-time graph algorithms using distributed databases and graph processors
- Integrate diverse data inputs including raw blockchain data and model outputs
- Convert academic research into production features and ship them
- Optimize large-scale distributed data processing systems such as Spark, Hadoop, and Dask
- Communicate complex implementation details to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Own and deliver features from start to finish
