Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

You will design, build, orchestrate, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows for the Hubble analytics dataset. You will analyze large transaction datasets using SQL to validate data and surface insights about liquidity, adoption, and smart contract usage. You will improve observability, data quality, and freshness across data marts and implement data governance practices such as cataloging and quality controls. You will translate product and community requests into data products, build dashboards and KPIs to enable self-service analytics, and write production-grade code in Python or Golang. You will operate and maintain schedulers such as Airflow or Dagster and work with modern warehousing tools like dbt and cloud data stacks.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional data engineering ML or software engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with ETL frameworks such as dbt Fivetran Databricks or Talend
  • Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing large datasets
  • Experience with ETL schedulers such as Apache Airflow Dagster or AWS Glue
  • Proficient programming in Python or Golang
  • Excellent communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
  • Cloud data stack experience preferred especially GCP
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines preferred
  • Experience administering BI tools and creating visualizations preferred
  • Knowledge of data governance data cataloging and data quality practices preferred
  • Curiosity about blockchain technologies and smart contracts preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows

  • Perform ad hoc and scheduled data analysis using SQL
  • Improve observability, data quality, and freshness of data marts
  • Translate business and community requests into data products
  • Build dashboards and KPIs to enable self-service analytics
  • Maintain and enhance the Hubble public analytics dataset
  • Write production-grade code in Python or Golang
