Senior Data Scientist, Fraud
About the Role
You will take end-to-end ownership of investigations, analytics, model development, and data product delivery to combat blockchain-related fraud and scams. You will develop custom models and algorithms, create interactive visualizations for investigators, and analyze complex distributed ledger and transactional data. You will partner with intelligence analysts, engineers, and research scientists to design and deploy analytics, communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and establish statistical best practices. You will participate in on-call rotation to ensure pipelines run smoothly and stay current with blockchain and fraud research.
Requirements
- Academic background in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Physics)
- 6+ years of experience in an analytical role
- Proven experience with at least one programming language (Python preferred) and working in a team code environment (git, notebooks, testing)
- Working knowledge of relational databases (SQL)
- Strong understanding of statistical distributions and data analysis methods
- High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to synthesize insights
