Senior Forward Deployed Engineer Mobile
About the Role
You will build, ship, and operate mobile applications for iOS and Android that meet high standards for security, privacy, accessibility, and reliability. You will collaborate with backend engineers and UX designers to integrate APIs and deliver intuitive mobile-first experiences. You will work directly with public sector customers to translate policy and customer requirements into production deployments, provide technical guidance on mobile security and operations, and support testing and CI/CD for mobile releases.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and shipping production mobile applications for iOS and/or Android
- Proficiency in at least one mobile development stack such as Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, or React Native
- Experience building backend services and integrating APIs
- Strong understanding of mobile security including secure storage, authentication, and encryption
- Experience with low-level protocols such as Bluetooth or NFC
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive mobile design
- Excellent communication and customer-facing delivery skills
- Located in the United States and willing to engage directly with state government partners
- Bonus: experience in regulated environments and public sector delivery
- Bonus: knowledge of identity standards such as OAuth and OpenID Connect or mDL
- Bonus: experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and mobile deployment
