Senior Legal Specialist
About the Role
You will manage legal responses to contentious inquiries, including pre-litigious and regulatory matters. You will communicate with external counsel and negotiate with opposing parties. You will draft, review, and manage court and arbitration documents, liaison agreements, and settlements. You will analyze the legality of financial products, advise stakeholders with commercially sensible legal opinions, support legal strategy and risk management, and provide administrative support for corporate documentation. You will partner with cross-functional and regional teams to address legal matters of varying complexity.
Responsibilities
- Manage legal efforts in response to contentious inquiries, including pre-litigious and regulatory matters
- Communicate with external counsel and negotiate with the opposition
- Provide proactive commercially sensible legal advice and write formal legal opinions
- Analyze the legality of financial products
- Develop and implement legal strategy to reduce dispute risk while balancing business objectives
- Assist in negotiating contracts for different business lines
- Draft and review court and arbitration documents, liaison agreements, and settlement agreements
- Support various risk management projects
- Partner with cross-functional and regional teams on legal matters
- Take prudent legal risks and advise on solutions to identified issues
- Provide administrative support to manage corporate documents and other documentation
