Senior Protocol Engineer
About the Role
You will design, implement, and optimize smart contracts that power an interchain messaging API. You will manage on-chain state for deployments, integrate the protocol with other chains and protocols, design economic primitives to secure messaging, and establish and maintain smart contract security practices. You will participate in audits and work across EVM and other execution environments.
Requirements
- 2+ years designing building and maintaining smart contract protocols in production
- Expert knowledge of the EVM or other smart contract execution environments
- Strong understanding of cryptoeconomic systems
- 4+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience with code audits and maintaining high security standards
- Drive intensity and motivation to perform at a world-class level
- Bonus: Experience building in Solana CosmWasm or Move-based execution environments
- Bonus: Familiarity with TypeScript and Rust agents

- Design smart contracts for the Hyperlane interchain messaging API
- Implement and optimize smart contracts for Hyperlane deployments
- Manage on-chain state of Hyperlane deployments
