Senior Protocol Engineer
About the Role
You will lead the design and implementation of smart contract infrastructure for core and new initiatives. You will own protocol architecture, security, and optimization across multiple chains. You will design token distribution mechanisms, optimize gas efficiency, drive protocol research and prototyping, lead audits, and research cross-chain bridging, tokenomics, and scalability.
Requirements
- 5+ years production smart contract development
- Expert-level Solidity with proven security practices
- Shipped contracts to mainnet managing significant TVL ($10M+)
- Deep DeFi knowledge including staking mechanisms, MEV protection, and oracle security
- Experience with invariant testing and formal verification
- Led contracts through professional audits (Trail of Bits, OpenZeppelin, etc.)
- Strong track record mentoring engineers and conducting thorough code reviews
- Multi-chain deployment experience (Ethereum L2s, alt-L1s)
- Experience with Vaults, Lending protocols, and yield generation (preferred)
- Tokenomics design for live projects (preferred)
- Experience with account abstraction or smart wallets (preferred)
- Background in cross-chain messaging protocols such as LayerZero, Wormhole, Hyperlane (preferred)
- Experience with off-chain backend services or frontend development (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design and implement core protocol contracts
- Design and implement token distribution mechanisms
- Own protocol architecture, security, and optimization across multiple platforms
- Drive protocol research, prototype solutions, and make architecture decisions
- Optimize gas efficiency and security for high-volume systems
- Lead contract audits and establish security best practices
- Research cross-chain bridging, token economics, and scalability
