Senior Security Engineer, Blockchain Detection
About the Role
You will work with a team of security experts to analyze logs and security events from cloud-deployed applications (especially in AWS) to detect and respond to intrusion activity and attacks on cloud APIs. You will build and deploy security analysis, detection rules, and monitoring pipelines using Python and version control, participate in on-call rotations and incident handling, create dashboards and analytics, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to design practical, privacy-preserving detection and response solutions. You will apply knowledge of blockchain and Ethereum transaction and protocol behavior to investigate suspicious activity tied to the identity service.
Requirements
- 5-8 years experience developing and deploying security-related analysis such as intrusion detection and log analysis
- 2-5 years experience with and detailed understanding of the Ethereum blockchain at protocol and transaction levels
- Proficiency in Python programming
- Experience with version control, especially GitHub
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and incident handling
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally to reach consensus security solutions
- Nice to have: Solidity smart contract experience
- Nice to have: SQL dashboarding and analytics experience
- Nice to have: Experience deploying to containerized environments via CI/CD
