Senior Software Engineer, CLI
About the Role
You will lead development of the Stellar CLI and related developer tools, shipping practical improvements that make onboarding and building on the network easier. You will design, implement, and maintain production-grade Rust code and backend systems, and extend smart contract tooling to support secure scalable decentralized applications. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with product and developer-relations stakeholders, and engage with the developer community to gather feedback and iterate on tooling.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on developer tools or infrastructure
- Proficiency in Rust with production-grade development experience
- Experience building and maintaining client applications or libraries
- Backend development skills and experience with at least one server-side language such as Go Python or Node.js
- Exposure to smart contract ecosystems tools frameworks and security best practices
- Familiarity with blockchain technology and cryptography concepts
- Strong problem-solving and collaborative communication skills
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership
Responsibilities
- Lead design development and maintenance of the Stellar CLI
- Collaborate with Product and Developer Relations to enhance developer experience
- Innovate and improve existing developer tools across DevX projects
- Develop and enhance smart contract tooling to support secure scalable decentralized applications
- Drive improvements to developer tooling quality and usability
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
- Coordinate with Platform DevRel and Ecosystem engineering to ship pragmatic solutions
- Engage with the developer community to collect feedback and implement improvements
