Senior Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure (RDBMS)
About the Role
You will design and maintain petabyte-scale, high-performance databases and data models to support real-time investigations and analytics. You will build and optimize production data pipelines, both batch and streaming, and diagnose and tune complex SQL queries under heavy load. You will implement and maintain database security measures including access control and encryption, and drive infrastructure initiatives such as indexing, storage optimization, and system resilience. You will create automation for scaling and maintenance tasks, build observability and monitoring, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver reliable end-to-end data workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics infrastructure, or backend systems with RDBMS depth
- Proven expertise with at least one of Postgres, MySQL, or SQL Server at production scale
- Experience with TB-scale datasets, concurrency, replication, and tuning
- Strong command of SQL reasoning and query debugging and optimization
- Experience designing and evolving normalized and denormalized data models
- Familiarity with data pipeline frameworks such as Airflow and DBT
- Experience implementing database security, access control, encryption, and compliance
- Systems thinking and ownership mindset for solving ambiguous cross-functional problems
