Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform (L3)
About the Role
You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that process high-volume, multi-source feeds. You will own end-to-end data infrastructure including pipeline orchestration, data warehousing, and OLAP systems. You will implement and enforce data quality frameworks, monitor pipeline performance, and lead incident response. You will provide technical reviews, mentorship, and documentation, translate stakeholder requirements into reliable data solutions, and propose improvements and proofs-of-concept to the technical roadmap.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of data engineering experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift
- Proficiency in Python and libraries such as pandas, dask, and pyarrow
- Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Dagster or Airflow
- Experience with stream processing technologies such as Kafka or Flink
- Knowledge of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and schema design
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and provide technical leadership
- Proven ability to take features from concept to production and solve complex problems
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines
- Implement dimensional models and star schema data models
- Own pipeline orchestration and data warehouse infrastructure
- Manage cloud-based data deployments and optimize cost and performance
- Establish automated data validation, monitoring, and remediation
- Define and track data quality KPIs and lineage
- Perform troubleshooting and lead incident response and post-mortems
- Provide code reviews, technical direction, and mentorship
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Collaborate with analysts, product managers, and stakeholders to translate requirements
