Staff Security Engineer
About the Role
You will design, build, and secure infrastructure and application architectures, including signing services, distributed systems in Kubernetes, network controls, and blockchain bridges. You will embed security into the SDLC by creating tooling and CI/CD guardrails, conduct deep threat modeling, lead incident response as Incident Commander, oversee cryptographic material and HSM usage, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience securing distributed systems in high-growth technology companies
- Proven track record of leading complex security initiatives from conception to delivery
- Strong experience with microservices architecture, Kubernetes, Istio, and cloud-native security controls
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving security excellence across teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve work processes
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities

- Serve as Incident Commander for high-severity security events and refine IR playbooks
- Oversee lifecycle of cryptographic material and key management including HSMs
- Mentor and elevate senior and mid-level security engineers
